Walking down the street on a foggy night I saw a young girl standing under a light Her face was pale and her skirt was tight Had a five dollar bill, I felt alright If I had my car, I would go for a drive I had no car, yet I had my five I walked over to her, I said-a \"What's your name?\" \"My name's Mary Jane, I live down the lane\" Oh no I looked down the lane, at the end I could see A room full of clowns looking back at me A line of executives formed to the right And if I'd stayed, I would have stood all night She opened up the door and said-a \"Go on in\" I walked in first and pulled down the shades She said, \"Take it easy, don't be afraid You got nothing to loose, you're at a penny arcade

I won't take all that they hand me down And make out a smile, though I wear a frown And I won't take it all lying down 'Cause once I get started I go to town 'Cause I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else And I don't want to ball about like everybody else And I don't want to live my life like everybody else And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else 'Cause I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else But darling, you know that I love you true Do anything that you want me to Confess all my sins like you want me to There's one thing that I will say to you I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else And I don't want to ball about like everybody else And I don't want to live my life like everybody else And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else 'Cause I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else Like everybody else Like everybody else Like everybody else Like everybody else If you all want me to settle down Slow up and stop all my running 'round Do everything like you want me to There's one thing that I will say to you I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else And I don't want to ball about like everybody else And I don't want to live my life like everybody else And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else 'Cause I'm not like everybody else I'm not like everybody else Like everybody else (like everybody else) Like everybody else (like everybody else) Like everybody else (like everybody else) Compositori: Raymond Douglas Davies Testo di I'm Not Like Everybody Else © Warner/Chappell Music, Inc

This Way 03:33
I want to go out tonight Climbing the walls around me To wash my eyes from normality And to see everything clearer From my mental sky Comes this acid rain And as a wandering bullet Deep inside it shocks my brain And the reason "goes" Down in my desert veins I want to see crystal bulbs Beyond these fatal towns And the reason "goes" All the days we work All the nights we sleep And this sense of sadness Is it the sense to be alive?

She Knows 03:07
Tomorrow I will find the force to change And all these clouds into my head Will be tears of hope On my long way Tomorrow I will find a way to go She knows Tomorrow I will know if that I say is true When tomorrow comes I will know the truth But now I'm here in this sad story Prisoner of her heat Enchained in her white jail She Knows

I feel depressed, I feel so bad 'Cause you're the best girl that I ever had I can't get your love, I can't get a fraction Uh-oh, little girl, psychotic reaction (Shouted) And it feels like this! I feel so lonely night and day I can't get your love, I must stay away I need you girl, by my side Uh-oh, little girl, would you like to take a ride, now I can't get your love, I can't get satisfaction Uh-oh, little girl, psychotic reaction

Cry Baby Cry 01:52
You cry like a child Like a wolf in the night Because your life without chains Is your fear of being free It is the chains of life That make the world go around Sometimes in directions Far away from the sun Cry baby cry For a place in time Cry baby cry For the love you have lost It is the chains of life That make the black and white Wrapped in the darkness Tight in your hands Cry for yourself cry and smile truly And your life without chains Will be everything that comes Cry baby cry For a place in time Cry baby cry For the love you have lost

Indian Path 02:30
Well, I was walking alone Along the streets of hope I knew nothing about these lands And I believed that I felt well For miles and miles I followed this wind Running, walking, running, walking, yeah! Just along the endless plains of hope Stones, mountain's range This was my dream I had no bags but a lot of trust I left all my goods to find freedom Just searching Indian paths For miles and miles I followed this wind Running, walking, running, walking yeah Just along the endless plains of hope But while I came to the end of these lanes All my wishes became only fear So, I walked back home But I discovered there was no hope For miles and miles I followed this wind Running, walking, running, walking yeah Just along the endless plains of hope

BIOGRAPHY (English)

The ELECTRIC SHIELDS begin to form us in the spring of 1986, in the quiet town of Arco, a stone's throw from Lake Garda.
Dario Marconcini and Daniele Merello who had been preparing for some time
material and looking for elements to form a Sixties Band they work with passion on the idea of recovering a certain rock of the sixties.

With the name of SIXTY FLOWERS, in December of the same year the group made its debut by playing in some local clubs, obtaining a discreet public consensus that encouraged them to continue the path taken.

The first training included:
STEFANO BOSCHIN - Lead vocal, guitar
DARIO MARCONCINI - Vox organ, vocal
MATTEO MARTNELLI - Bass
PAOLO PULITA - Drum
DANIELE MERELLO - Lead & fuzz guitar

It was in March 1987 that the band via its own manager Fabrizio Bettoni sent to the producer Claudio Sorge the recordings of some songs and arousing some interest.
At the suggestion of the same Sorge the 5 decide to change their name in ELECTRIC SHIELDS and during the following summer they engrave the first demo tape "SIXTY FLOWERS ON THE ELECTRIC SHIELDS" that gives them a contract with the independent Milanese label Electric Eye Records that will lead to an EP at 45g. and an appearance on a compilation of Italian groups called Neolithic Sound From Southern Europe.

CRY BABY CRY sees the light in May 1988 and is an excellent testimony of the intent of the Band; 4 tracks of the most genuine garage sound recorded in the most Spartan way possible and far from modern recording studios so that nothing is lost of their raw primitive dynamics.

II 45g. is well received by the specialized press and record reviews appear on the most competent Italian and foreign magazines and fanzines (Buscadero - Ex Nexu - Lost Traiis - Rockerilla - Il Mucchio ...).

Throughout the following summer the group is busy playing in many clubs of the peninsula and in September enters the studio to register the second demo tape: "THE WORDS I NEVER SAID".

The last work in the study is for E.S. the beginning of a turn towards a FOLK ROCK of clear Californian matrix that will see them more and more forward on the paths traced by groups such as BYRDS and BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD ... testimony of all this is the excellent version of a song by GRAM PARSOM "100 YEARS FROM NOW" which appears on 45g. attached to the last issue of LOST TRAILS which dates back to February 1989.

It should also be remembered that the song "SOUTHERN GHOUL", which will appear alongside the STEMS Australians and the ULTRA FIVE New Yorkers, on E.P. 45g. inserted in the German fanzine EX NEXU and the song "THE WORDS I NEVER SAID" that will appear in the compilation American KALEIDOSCOPE VIBRATIONS.

BIOGRAFIA

STEFANO BOSCHIN - Lead vocal, guitar
DARIO MARCONCINI - Vox organ, vocal
MATTEO MARTNELLI - Bass
PAOLO PULITA - Drum
DANIELE MERELLO - Lead & fuzz guitar

THE WORDS I NEVER SAID".
